Anel's Elder Care

Our services

Every kind of help — none of the hard sell.

Care plans at Anel's are built from the list below, not chosen off it. Mix, match, and change as life changes — we adjust, you don't re-negotiate.

01

Companionship

Loneliness is a medical condition — tied to higher rates of depression, cognitive decline, and poorer health overall. This is care that looks like real conversation.

Who it's for

Seniors who are physically independent but isolated, or whose family caregiver needs a trusted second presence.

A few hours at a time, flexible days and times

What's included

  • Meaningful conversation and listening
  • Card games, puzzles, reading aloud
  • Walks and outdoor time
  • Help with phone and video calls to family
  • Hobbies and lifelong interests
  • Simply being present, unhurried

02

Medication reminders

Missed medications are one of the top reasons seniors end up back in the hospital. Gentle, consistent reminders — at the right time, every time.

Who it's for

Anyone juggling multiple prescriptions, a new regimen after a hospital stay, or early memory concerns.

Short visits, often daily or twice-daily

What's included

  • On-time prompts for each dose
  • Following the written plan from your pharmacy
  • Watching to confirm doses are taken
  • Organizing weekly pill boxes
  • Noting missed or skipped doses for the family
  • Pharmacy pickup when needed

03

Transportation for appointments

Door-through-door — not just door-to-door. I don't drop off at the clinic; I walk in with you, stay through the appointment, and drive you home.

Who it's for

Seniors who've stopped driving — but still want to keep their appointments, errands, and routines.

Scheduled as needed — single trips or regular runs

What's included

  • Doctor, dentist, and specialist visits
  • Pharmacy runs
  • Physical therapy sessions
  • Lab work and imaging
  • Hair, nails, and personal appointments
  • Church, social events, and visits with friends

04

Grocery shopping & errands

The weekly grocery run, the pharmacy pickup, the trip to the post office. Small tasks that pile up fast when mobility shrinks.

Who it's for

Seniors living alone who don't drive, or families who live out of town and need a trusted local hand.

Weekly or as-needed

What's included

  • Weekly grocery shopping
  • Pharmacy and prescription pickups
  • Bank, post office, and dry cleaner
  • Returns and exchanges
  • Gift shopping for birthdays and holidays
  • Whatever's on the list — tell me

05

Light housekeeping

A comfortable home is a safer home. Not a deep clean — the everyday tidying and upkeep that keeps things calm and livable.

Who it's for

Seniors who no longer have the energy or reach for daily upkeep but don't need (or want) a cleaning crew.

Included in regular visits — a bit at a time

What's included

  • Dishes and kitchen cleanup
  • Bed-making and bedroom tidying
  • Dusting and light vacuuming
  • Bathroom cleanup
  • Taking out the trash
  • Watering plants

06

Laundry

Washed, dried, folded, put away. The unglamorous rhythm of a clean, organized closet makes a surprising difference day to day.

Who it's for

Seniors for whom bending, lifting, and stairs make laundry day a risk — or just more trouble than it's worth.

Weekly, usually with other visits

What's included

  • Weekly wash, dry, fold
  • Bed linens and towels
  • Ironing when needed
  • Putting clothes away properly
  • Noting items that need mending or replacing
  • Gentle care for special garments

07

Meal preparation

Good food, shared with company. Simple meals tailored to dietary needs — and sitting down to enjoy them together.

Who it's for

Seniors who've stopped cooking for themselves or are eating less than they should.

Around mealtimes — or batch cooking once a week

What's included

  • Planning meals around preferences
  • Grocery list preparation
  • Cooking simple, nourishing meals
  • Eating together when welcome
  • Portioning leftovers for later
  • Kitchen cleanup afterward

08

Temporary respite care

If you're the family caregiver, you already know: burnout is real. Respite keeps you whole so the care can continue long-term.

Who it's for

Spouses and adult children who are the primary caregiver and need real, regular, guilt-free time off.

From a few hours a week to multi-day coverage

What's included

  • Scheduled weekly breaks
  • Weekend coverage
  • Vacation coverage (a week or more)
  • Same-day backup when life happens
  • Full accounting of the visit when you return
  • Peace of mind while you're away

Care intensity

From a few hours a week to always here.

Most families start lighter than they think they need — and scale up as trust builds and needs evolve. There's no long-term contract.

  • 2–3 hrs

    Check-in visits

Short, regular visits for medication reminders, a wellness check, or a bit of company.

  • 3–5 hrs

    Errands & company

Long enough for a grocery run, a meal together, and some real conversation.

  • 6–8 hrs

    Full-day support

A full day at home — errands, meals, housekeeping, appointments, companionship.

  • Custom

    Respite stretches

Built-to-fit respite blocks — weekends, a week of vacation coverage, or anything in between.

Honest about limits

What we don't do.

Anel\'s is non-medical, companion-style support — errands, housekeeping, reminders, company. If what you need is a nurse, a therapist, or hands-on personal care, I\'ll happily point you toward someone who does that well.

  • Skilled nursing (IVs, injections, wound care)
  • Hands-on personal care like bathing or toileting
  • Physical, occupational, or speech therapy
  • Administering medications (I remind — I don't dispense)
  • Diagnosis, prescriptions, or medical decisions

We coordinate closely with home health nurses, hospice teams, and physicians. Many of our clients use us alongside those services.

How pricing works

Straightforward, written, yours to keep.

After the free in-home assessment you'll get a written estimate covering hours, tasks, and price — before a single shift is scheduled.

Most long-term care insurance is accepted.

We'll help submit paperwork and coordinate direct billing where possible.

  • Hours per week

More hours usually means a lower hourly rate. Live-in is priced as a daily rate.

  • Level of care

Companionship is lighter than full personal care or memory care. Overnight awake is priced above sleep-capable.

  • Schedule

Weekends, holidays, and last-minute shifts carry small premiums. Consistent weekday schedules are the best value.

Services FAQ

The questions we answer all day.

Can we combine services?+

Yes — almost every care plan does. A typical plan mixes personal care, meals, and companionship, with transportation added on a schedule.

Can the plan change over time?+

Yes. We review every care plan at least quarterly, and adjust any time you ask. Life changes; plans change.

Do you require a minimum commitment?+

No long-term contracts. Visits have a 3-hour minimum. You can pause, increase, decrease, or stop any time with reasonable notice.

Who pays for home care?+

Most families pay privately or through long-term care insurance. Medicare does not cover non-medical home care. VA benefits and Medicaid waivers may apply — we can point you in the right direction.

Do you drive clients?+

Yes. I'm insured to transport clients, and many visits include transportation to appointments or errands. Mileage is billed at cost.

What happens if you're sick or unavailable?+

I give as much notice as humanly possible and work with you on a plan. For anyone who needs continuous daily coverage, I'll help identify a backup in advance so no one is ever stranded.
